Coronavirus (COVID-19) Statement Update

COVID-19 Update

Dear Patrons,

In light of recent legislation and suggestions from the government to help protect our employees and customers from the spread of covid-19, please read this document carefully so you can be aware of the measures we are taking as a company to protect you and our staff.

Our primary duty is the health and wellbeing of those who work for us and our loyal customer base, but we are also concerned of the potential impact for our business and employees.

With no way of knowing how long these special measures may be in place for, we have made the following changes to our operations effective immediately.

1/ Anyone entering the pub must wash their hands upon arrival, no wash no service.

2/ The pub will remain open, although we have removed a number of tables and chairs from the premises to reduce social contact and increase the distance between people

3/ Any person, who has flown into the UK within the last 14 days will regrettably not be allowed into the pub

4/ The Bar will operate as usual with a strict limit on numbers, and we will be suggesting people use our sizeable garden where possible. There will only be 30 people permitted inside the pub at one time, and we would ask you to please use all the space available.

5/ The pub will now operate between the hours of 12pm and 8pm, and we will only be providing a lunch service in the premises, between 12pm-2.30pm.

6/ Regretfully all social events such as music nights, pub quizzes, Mother’s Day and Easter Sunday will be cancelled.

7/ We will be providing a pick-up service, for food and drinks between the hours of 12-8pm. Please use 02083984444 to place your order. Payments will be taken over the phone, and the available menu is on our website www.marneys.co.uk.

We have not taken this decision lightly, and we have done our best to interpret the government’s suggestions which are light on detail. So, I would ask everyone to please respect our decisions, as we have made them with the wellbeing of you and our staff in mind.

We have also taken the following measures to conform to government guidelines and minimize people’s exposure to covid-19

  • We have ordered hand sanitiser dispensers which should be with us in the next 10 days, and they will be positioned at the entrance to the pub.
  • In addition to our usual vigorous cleaning schedule, all contact areas are being cleaned at regular frequent intervals
  • Minimized the amount of staff that we employ, and asking staff to self-isolate at the first sign of symptoms

We are taking every precaution necessary to keep you and our staff safe. We have every intention to keep the pub open during these difficult times and will keep up to date with Government advice as and when it is issued. We are grateful for your support in helping us to do so. Although please bear in mind we are expecting a closure at some point during this difficult time, and will try our best at this time to extend our offerings.

If you or a member of your family are showing any symptoms of a continuous cough / high fever, please visit https://111.nhs.uk/covid-19, noting you are instructed to stay at home for a minimum of two weeks

If you are not showing any symptoms, the advice is to stop non-essential contact with others, avoid all non-essential travel, working from home where possible whilst avoiding pubs, clubs and theatres.

If you are aware of any member of the public who is alone & elderly, and you suspect that they may in need of some help. Please urge them to contact us for help, we will do our upmost to get them some food and essentials free of charge and as quick as possible.

Thank you in advance during this difficult time, and should you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me.

Best wishes
